When Happily Smiles Dentistry, a leading Newport-based dental practice, sought to revitalize its branding efforts, it presented a two-fold challenge: to design a set of impactful business cards that serve as a tangible extension of their brand, and also create engaging social media graphics to captivate their digital younger audience. Excited, we embraced this challenge as an opportunity to harmonize physical and digital branding elements, crafting a memorable brand experience across multiple touchpoints.
Known for its state-of-the-art dental treatments and a patient-centric approach, the company aimed to reflect these core values in its business cards and social media presence. We met with the client, visited their clinics, and studied their existing marketing collateral. Through this, we were able to create a nuanced understanding of what Happy Smiles wanted its branding to showcase.
Business Card Design: The Physical Touchpoint
Converting the ethos of a healthcare provider into the limited space of a business card is no small feat. Given that this tiny piece of cardboard often serves as the first impression, we prioritized creating a design that was equally elegant and informative. We opted for a modern colour palette to evoke a sense of calm and trust, employing shades of blue and white that aligned with the clean, professional environment of a dental practice.
Recognizing that touch is an underutilized sense in marketing, we chose a premium, textured paper stock that would evoke feelings of quality and care. The card was designed, featuring the logo and tagline. Also housing essential contact details and URL's that easily provide customer access to the booking form.
Social Media Graphics: The Digital Connection
Shifting our focus to the digital sphere, we wanted to create graphics that were not only visually cohesive with the business cards but also highly shareable. Our strategy here was to mix educational and engaging content. Given that dentistry can be a topic many people find dull or even anxiety-inducing, our designs incorporated friendly characters and comforting visuals to make the information more approachable. The client was keen on targeting to a wide variety of potential customers, from children to seniors, and everything in-between. With that we designed multiple graphics, targeting numerous consumers, doing so gave the customer choice to reach more markets, diversifying the content on their site.
Results and Engagement
As soon as the newly designed business cards were distributed and the social media campaign went live, Happily Smiles Dentistry experienced a significant upswing in audience engagement. The cards were received extremely well, with clients complimenting their high-quality feel and aesthetic appeal. The social media graphics were equally effective, driving up interactions and fostering meaningful conversations about oral health on various platforms.
The cross-channel approach led to increased appointment bookings, as the URLs on the business cards made it incredibly easy for recipients to navigate to the appointment page. The business cards with their vibrant colour and designs were very memorable and appreciated, with many of their customers asking for multiple cards to pass on to their friends and family.
